RSM has considerable domestic and international training and mentoring experience with a wide range of organizations. Below are a few examples of where we have supporting clients within the training and education sector:
Example: RSM consulting was tasked to draft a Train the Trainer program designed to be taught to key local employed personnel within an organization who could then teach the course to other employees within that organization. This course was presented to the organization initially with 4 students planned for attendance. The goal was to come away with 2 qualified instructors. At the conclusion of the course 6 instructors were identified as being qualified to teach the course exceeding the client’s expectations. The course culminated in the newly qualified trainers teaching components of a Hostile Environment Training (HET) course back to some 42 of their colleagues including the COP and other key personnel.
Example: RSM were requested to provide a workshop for 11 NGO groups operating in Nigeria (Abuja) – providing a range of training for 32 managers. Our training addressed policy design and development, crisis and disaster leadership, kidnap and ransom, staff safety and security awareness, the leveraging of external agencies and groups and training and educational development. Our instructors supported the development of real life policies during training and offered after-hours one on one instruction and guidance. RSM remained in country past the course and offered direct programmatic support. During the training one organization had a real time crisis relating to targeting and RSM provided direct (no cost) consulting support to managers.
Example: RSM were requested to provide training at the annual InsideNGO conference offering a 2hr session for NGO Human Resources Directors and departments on what to consider when seeking to keep people safe while operating worldwide. RSM provided a comprehensive yet practical list of considerations, tools and methodologies – including handbooks and guidelines to over 80 groups. Our educators met with various groups after the conference to provide follow on advice and support.
Example: RSM were engaged to train the Chief of Parties (65) for a major development organization at their annual conference in crisis leadership, providing a key note speaker for a 3hr presentation, followed by one on one advisory sessions for different regions. The RSM presenter explained risks and crisis events and how managers could better prepare for and manage crisis events as organizations and individuals. The questions and answer sessions focused on specific and personal risks and offered a chance for managers to seek solutions to current and long term problems.
