RSM Publications Library

Risk and Strategic Management, Corp. (RSM) is a world leader in designing policies, plans, guidebooks and instructions on management and leadership topics. We design guidelines and booklets which apply to multi-national and multi-cultural groups to bring greater structure and management controls to safety and security issues. Our guide designers are published authors and speak internationally, having worked or lived in over 38 countries, with Masters Degree in Risk and Business Continuity Management.

Our publications include:

  • The Staff Safety and Security Handbook
  • The Incident Management Plan
  • The Business Continuity Manager’s Guide
  • The Manager’s Guide to Facility Management

We can design tailored materials quickly and effectively to meet unique organizational needs. We translate our materials into various languages to meet different linguistic requirements; including Spanish and French (we can translate materials into other languages upon request). Our approach is cost effective and gives considerable value-added to organizations – helping staff stay safe, providing confidence to managers and protecting the wide interests of the organization. We save organizations months of effort and considerable costs by tailoring our comprehensive materials to their unique needs.

We have distributed thousands of books worldwide to multiple development, NGO and private sector organizations in various languages. RSM understands from operating within remote, challenged and high risk countries that effective risk management starts at the individual level and is comprised of risk management through contingency planning. We also understand that organization resilience is based on the knowledge and confidence of managers – and so we meet the operational to strategic needs of an organization.

Our guides are designed to meet the varied knowledge and capabilities of the user and can work in isolation or as part of an integrated and holistic approach.

We can design specific policies, plans and protocols upon request.

Branding and Limitations

Organizations can re-brand materials to give the documents a feel of the organization. RSM only requests that our copyright and logo are included in footers within the document. We will work with the marketing division of the organization to support personalization of these documents.

The only restrictions applied are that electronic versions can only be used within the organization so as to protect the IP rights of RSM.

Options

These guidelines and booklets can be provided as a one time buy in electronic formats, and also can be procured as professionally printed booklets. A considerable amount of time and research has been invested into these documents to ensure they meet worldwide requirements. To date they have been provided to such companies as DAI, Parsons, the Urban Institute, Chemonics International, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Refugees International, KNCV, Abt Associates, the University Research Co, and MSH. Many organizations are providing these also to local national personnel: being cognizant that the information within the documents applies to all staff.

- Electronic Format: RSM will work with your team to allow the organization the ability to adjust elements as desired and to create a personalized front and back cover. Internal information and points of contacts can also be easily adjusted to suit organizational requirements. The documents will then be provided in a PDF version to the organization for electronic distribution worldwide. Further amendments can also be added later on. RSM will provide open word copies for “personalization pages” which can be added into project or country specific booklets. These can be inserted using sticky pages for different regions.

- Booklet Purchase: Alternatively your organization can buy booklets direct from RSM Consulting. If more than 300 booklets are ordered RSM will at no charge modify the front and rear pages and internal points of contact and print personalized booklets for the organization.

Our publications include:

Staff Safety and Security Handbook

The Staff Safety and Security Handbook is a comprehensive guide for multi-national staff on how to work, travel and socialize with greater safety and confidence. The guidelines provide sensible risk mitigation measures on how to reduce personal and group risks. In addition, it specifically addresses both manmade and natural hazards, offering pragmatic advice on how to avoid these risks, or respond to an emergency event should an emergency event occur.

The booklet can be personalized to meet the needs of the organization and is available in English, Spanish and French.

The Incident Management Plan

RSM provides a comprehensive Incident Management Plan which helps local teams create a Security and Incident Management Forum, define a crisis communications plan and understand how to react to, and report, over 52 different forms of manmade and natural crisis events. This guide brings immediate control during the critical first seconds and hours of a crisis event.

The plan is broken into a management section which defines how to activate and use the plan. It addresses pragmatic immediate action instructions for managers and also information capture reports to support the effective sharing of information.

All guides can be personalized to meet the unique needs of a specific organization.
